CSA

Our CSA Program

More than a box of vegetables, it’s a season spent with our farm.

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, but to us, it means so much more than simply picking up a box of produce each week.

When you join our CSA, you become part of the growing season here at Fair Weather Growers. From the first spring plantings to the abundance of summer and the changing harvests of fall, your share reflects what is growing in our fields right here, right now.

Throughout the season, you'll enjoy a variety of freshly harvested vegetables, herbs, and seasonal favorites grown right here on our farm. Some weeks may bring familiar staples you already love, while others may introduce you to something you've never cooked with before. That's part of the fun!

Eat With the Seasons

One of our favorite things about CSA is that it reconnects us with the way food naturally grows.

Instead of expecting every vegetable to be available every week, you experience the season as it happens. You'll see the first tender greens of the season, wait patiently for the tomatoes to ripen, enjoy sweet corn when the fields are ready, and watch your share change as we move toward fall.

And because your produce isn't traveling across the country or sitting in storage before reaching you, much of what goes into your share has been harvested right here on the farm.

Share in the Growing Season

Farming is never completely predictable and that's part of what makes CSA unique.

We plant throughout the season so that we can continue harvesting as long as possible, but Mother Nature always gets a say. A stretch of heavy rain, extreme heat, wildlife, or an especially successful crop can change what's coming out of the fields from one week to the next.

Some crops may surprise us with an incredible harvest, while others may not cooperate at all. When there's an abundance, we love being able to share that abundance with our CSA members.

Supporting Your Local Farm

Joining our CSA also gives our farm valuable support at the beginning of the growing season, when many of our largest expenses occur.

Your early commitment helps us purchase seeds and supplies, prepare our fields, plan our plantings, and get our crews ready for another growing season.

But one of the greatest parts of our CSA is the community that has grown around it.

We love getting to know our members, hearing what you made with your vegetables, introducing you to something new, sharing what's happening in the fields, and seeing familiar faces return season after season.

When you join our CSA, you're not just purchasing produce. You're choosing to eat locally, support a Connecticut farm, and share a growing season with us.

And we can't wait to share it with you.
