How we do it
Growing Practicing
Growing Practicing
Fair Weather Growers are often asked are you organic, the simple answer is no but then people walk away without understanding what we are. We are a conventional farm, our growing practice is an IPM, Integrated Pest Management program, which is an ecosystem approach to crop production and protection that combines different management strategies and practices to grow a healthy crop and minimize the use of pesticides. In simple terms, we have a scout that works for us and scouts all of our fields on a weekly basis, monitoring and trapping for Insects and diseases during the growing season. This is done to help ensure that we are able to produce the highest quality produce possible, with as minimal impact to the environment. We are GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certified. Ensuring that we are producing safe products and farming in a safe manner that minimize risks to the environment and our customers. To ensure we are in compliance with the GAP we are audited by the Department of Agriculture every year during the harvest season.
